This post is to educate the public of the new Maryland Locksmith Licenses Law. As of January 2013 the state now required ALL LOCKSMITHS doing business in the state to be licensed through the Department of Labor Licensing and Regulations (DLLR). Along with this licensing all locksmiths are required to be finger printed and have a back ground check before the application for licenses are issued. The following site is the DLLR site that you can check if the locksmith you are using have used or want to use is listed. The site is updated every several days. According to several sites on the Internet there are as many as 50 locksmiths listed in Cheltenham. They are using false address's and phone numbers that roll over to a call center in another state.

ALWAYS ask for a state licenses number. Their exact location. Even is they are mobile they should not mind giving you their address. The address should be something besides the gas station on 301, the US Post Office Building or an empty lot on Sarrats Rd.
